Robot thinks it’s falling off the stairs/cliff when working over Black colored carpets.

I have a Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2, and I absolutely love it. But one downside is, the carpet that I have, has Black colors here and there, and whenever it goes over them, the “Anti fall from staircase” Sensors activate and not make it work properly. Which needs to be fixed.

I would suggest allowing me to select a “Carpet Zone” in the app on my map where the sensors do not work inside the zone and it’ll continue to clean the carpet as expected.

Pleaseeee fix this issue, it can easily be fixed via Software updates. I hope Team Dreame fixes it.

Dreame Support 1 Floor
Hi,
Thank You for the feedback, to help you understand better, the anti fall sensor transmits the IR to the floor and collects the reflected light in the Receiver. The black colour absorbs the IR. So it depends on the reflectivity of the floor type. Unfortunately, black carpets have the least reflectivity due to which you are facing this challenge. This cannot be solved via software update.

In order to resolve this, you can do a "quick fix" by covering the antifall sensors with a white piece of paper. That's how you can bypass this sensor and make it work. However, be careful as it will not detect stairs and may fall down.
