Main brush badly damaged and hair accumulating on the roller after less than 2 months, is this normal?

The main/tangle brush is already badly cut and damaged after less than 2 months of use. A lot of hair has also accumulated around the roller.
Is this normal wear and tear, or could the hair buildup be causing this damage? Should I replace the brush?
